Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. The role blends advanced HV substation design with leading a team of engineers for project delivery across multiple offices.

The candidate will serve as technical authority for substation physical design, oversee complex projects, mentor staff, and support growth and resource planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related field.
• PE license required.
• 15+ years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV substation design projects 230kV–345kV.
• Act as Engineer of Record for physical design and station services.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables and calculations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated delivery.
• Drive quality, standards, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor engineers and support staff development.
• Support business development and client relationships.
