CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead HV substation design and grow a team of engineers, serving as Engineer of Record and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, client service, and development of the next generation of engineers across multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 15 years of related experience in substation design and leadership.
• Travel to various sites may be required (up to 10%).
• Experience leading regional or multi-office teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV substation projects from 230kV to 345kV, providing technical and organizational leadership.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for substation physical design.
• Mentor and develop engineers and designers; support career growth.
• Oversee project staffing, budgets, schedules, and performance.
• Support business development and client relationship management.
