CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical authority and lead a team within our Power and Energy practice. You will design HV substation projects (230kV‑345kV), mentor engineers, and oversee delivery from planning through start-up.

The role emphasizes EOR responsibilities, client service, and growth initiatives, with preferred locations across several U.S. offices. Travel up to 10% may be required, and PE licensure is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• 15 years of related experience.
• Some travel may be required (10% or less).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and delivery of HV substation projects 230kV–345kV.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) and technical authority for substation physical design.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, studies, and calculations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for planning through startup.
• Drive technical excellence through standards development and continuous improvement.
