CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to lead HV substation design and serve as a technical authority for physical design. You will mentor engineers, support project execution, and drive standard development across teams.

This role requires ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction while delivering projects from planning through startup. Travel to multiple offices may be required, with a focus on leadership and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• PE license required.
• 15 years of related engineering experience required.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Experience leading regional or multi-office teams.
• Experience delivering HV substation projects 13.8kV–345kV.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV substation design projects from 230kV to 345kV.
• Act as Engineer of Record (EOR) for physical design.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables to standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams through design to startup.
• Drive quality reviews and development of engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and lead team development.
• Support business development and client relationships.
