Job summary

Qualified candidates have ABET‑accredited engineering degrees, 7+ years of substation experience, and strong communication skills; PE license is strongly preferred. This role requires collaboration with clients and internal teams, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required (Electrical/Mechanical or related).
• Bachelor degree with FE exam or PE license preferred.
• 7+ years of substation project experience, consulting preferred.
• Strong written/verbal communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design from concept through completion.
• Develop substation design packages: arrangement, protection, relaying, grounding, lighting, security.
• Prepare calculations: insulation, DC/AC systems, battery sizing, cable/conduit sizing.
• Create design sketches, cost estimates, BOMs, equipment specs.
• Perform field inspections of substations for utilities and clients.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and client satisfaction; manage schedules and budgets.
