Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to lead design deliverables for high-voltage substations (13kV–765kV). You will guide projects from conceptual phase through construction, coordinating with project teams to meet budget and client requirements.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and adherence to IEEE/NESC standards. PE license is preferred; FE + 7+ years acceptable. Minneapolis, MN location with full-time schedule.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; 7+ years of substation project experience.
• PE license strongly preferred; FE + 7+ years acceptable with relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Leads and collaborates effectively in a team environment.

Aufgaben

• Lead substation projects from concept through completion.
• Develop substation design packages including physical layout, relaying, and protection.
• Perform electrical studies such as grounding, lightning analysis, and voltage drop.
• Prepare design sketches, BOMs, cost estimates, and equipment specs.
• Field inspections of substation facilities.
• Ensure QA/QC adherence and timely delivery within budget.
