Job summary

AES Corporation, through AES Clean Energy Services, LLC, is seeking a Senior Engineer, High Voltage Project Engineer to oversee nationwide HV projects with a focus on wind, PV, BESS, and data center infra. This role spans design review, interconnection coordination, and field support across the US.

Applicants should have a BS in Electrical Eng and at least 18 months in P&C engineering, substations design, and vendor coordination, with drafting experience in AutoCAD/Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 18 months of engineering experience.
• 18 months experience with Protection and Control (P&C) Engineering.
• 18 months experience with technical report writing and design package preparation.
• 18 months experience applying knowledge of IEEE, NEC and ANSI standards.
• 18 months experience with Substation physical design.
• 18 months experience with Equipment specification and Vendor Coordination.
• 6 months experience with AutoCAD/Bluebeam for electrical drafting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of high voltage projects nationwide, with emphasis on the Western United States portfolio.
• Coordinate deliverables through internal and external parties, using a wide breadth of technical skills.
• Review Substation EPC designs for interconnection requirements and reliability standards.
• Provide design review and advice on issues that appear technically incorrect or inconsistent with project documentation.
• Coordinate power system studies such as load flows, short circuits, and harmonics.
• Direct coordination with interconnection providers to design collector substations per Transmission Provider requirements.
• Support substation commissioning by reviewing testing procedures and coordinating with utility and ISO.
• Collaborate with project teams across real estate, permitting, interconnection, attorneys, finance, and construction.
