Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior HV CAD Designer to support high voltage substation and transmission design, with additional focus on PV and BESS land development. The role emphasizes drafting accuracy, standardization, and collaboration with multiple internal teams across renewable projects.

You will contribute to 35kV–500kV projects, develop CAD templates and databases, and coordinate with land, permitting, and real estate teams to address site constraints and access.

Qualifications

• HV substation and/or transmission CAD design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office applications.
• General knowledge of electrical systems, drawings, diagrams and code considerations for HV substations.
• Experience creating and maintaining CAD tools, templates, blocks, symbol databases, or design standardization resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop up to 30% substation packages in AutoCAD/Bluebeam for 35kV–500kV facilities.
• Draft technical exhibits for transmission line engineering and rights-of-way.
• Support PV and BESS land development with site plans, layouts and single line diagrams.
• Collaborate with HV engineers, leads, real estate, surveying, permitting, and PM teams.
