Job summary

ANS, a leading engineering consultancy, seeks a Senior Engineer for High Voltage Power System Studies to join our growing team in the US. You will conduct feasibility studies, power system modeling, and electrical calculations for substation and transmission projects, and mentor junior engineers.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years in power system analysis, and PE licensure preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
Minimum 8+ years of experience in power system analysis
PE Licensure is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated experience in load flow, short circuit, and stability studies
Project experience in power systems or renewables
Skilled in protective device coordination, arc-flash analysis, mitigation strategies, and relay settings
Capable of performing grounding system analysis, harmonics studies, and cable shield induced voltage assessments

Responsibilities

Conduct feasibility studies, power system modeling, and electrical calculations for substation and transmission line projects
Review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support power system analysis
Analyze designs to ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and NERC standards
Providing mentorship and leading teams
Contributing technical expertise to business development and proposals
Lead, teach and mentor junior engineers
