Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to advance industrial and factory automation solutions, with focus on VFDs, mining, and transit cable markets. You will align engineering initiatives with business goals, lead technical problem solving, and collaborate with sales, operations, product management, and EPC partners to deliver value.

This role requires up to 50% travel to conferences, job sites and plants, and offers hybrid duties with remote options and a strong

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of application support and/or product engineering experience.
• Travel up to 50% to conferences, job sites and plant locations.
• Experience with wire and cable, power, utility, manufacturing, or electrical industry.
• Ability to collaborate with a large multi-functional department internally and externally.
• Spanish/Portuguese or other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for wire and cable products and applications.
• Deliver engineering training and presentations to customers and sales channels.
• Prepare technical documents detailing cable designs, ratings, and installation methods.
• Lead RFI/RFQ responses and project information packaging.
• Perform cable sizing and ampacity calculations per NEC/IEEE/IEC.
• Travel to job sites and conferences up to 50%.
