Job description

Senior HR Generalist Boise, Idaho | In Office Alliance Resource Group is partnering with a growing, established organization in the Boise market to identify a hands‑on HR Manager who can take ownership of the day‑to‑day Human Resources function. This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Generalist or HR Manager who enjoys being close to the business. Rather than owning just one piece of HR, this person will have broad responsibility across employee onboarding, benefits, compliance, employee relations, payroll coordination, policies, and overall HR operations. The organization has experienced meaningful growth in both revenue and headcount and is looking for someone who can help ensure its people processes continue to mature alongside the business. You'll partner closely with leadership while remaining hands‑on with employees and the everyday needs of the organization. For someone who wants to own an HR function, build processes, and continue growing into broader leadership responsibility, this is a unique long‑term opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own the employee onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring a consistent and professional employee experience
  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers regarding policies, benefits, employee relations, and general HR questions
  • Administer and coordinate employee benefits, enrollment, eligibility changes, leave, and employee communication
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Manage HR compliance activities, documentation, policies, and employee files
  • Support payroll administration and reporting, working closely with internal accounting/payroll resources
  • Partner with leadership on employee relations, performance concerns, coaching, documentation, and workplace issues
  • Manage workers' compensation, leave administration, unemployment claims, and other employee‑related programs
  • Coordinate new‑hire documentation, background processes, employment verification, and required compliance paperwork
  • Help develop, document, and improve HR policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support recruiting and hiring activities as needed while helping managers improve the overall hiring and onboarding experience
  • Track HR metrics, employee information, and reporting needed by leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes as the organization continues to grow
What We're Looking For
  • Progressive experience as an HR Generalist, Senior HR Generalist, HR Manager, or similar hands‑on HR professional
  • Broad knowledge across multiple HR disciplines rather than experience limited to a single specialty
  • Strong understanding of employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, HR compliance, and employment practices
  • Experience working directly with employees and managers to resolve day‑to‑day HR questions and issues
  • Comfortable independently managing HR priorities and making sound judgment calls
  • Ability to balance employee advocacy with the needs of the business
  • Strong organization, communication, confidentiality, and follow‑through
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where responsibilities may extend beyond a traditional job description
Experience That Would Be Especially Valuable
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification
  • Experience supporting a construction, engineering, project‑based, industrial, or field‑based workforce
  • Payroll coordination or payroll compliance experience
  • Benefits administration
  • Workers' compensation and leave administration
  • Employee handbook and policy development
  • Experience supporting an organization experiencing rapid headcount or revenue growth
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership
Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is not a narrowly defined corporate HR position. You'll have the opportunity to become the go‑to HR resource for the organization, working directly with leadership while also staying connected to employees and operations. You'll have ownership over the core HR function and the ability to improve processes rather than simply inherit a rigid corporate structure. The company is established and growing, but maintains an entrepreneurial environment where people have visibility, wear multiple hats, and can make a noticeable impact. For a strong Senior HR Generalist who is ready to step into HR leadership, or an HR Manager who wants greater ownership and visibility, there is significant opportunity to grow with the organization over the long term.
