Overview

The Human Resources Manager oversees various HR functions, ensures timely filling of hourly positions, manages paperwork, enforces company policies, and assists with benefits and workers' compensation.

Responsibilities
  1. Administer insurance benefits, assist with enrollment, and answer related questions.
  2. Compile and distribute review and turnover reports.
  3. Enter payroll data and conduct prescreening interviews.
  4. Respond to unemployment claims and maintain related logs.
  5. Maintain logs for hires, terminations, transfers, and promotions.
  6. Audit payroll hours for benefits eligibility.
  7. Conduct wage surveys and monitor leave of absence and workers' compensation claims.
  8. Answer questions regarding 401K, vacation, and other benefits.
  9. Manage employee requests for complimentary room nights.
  10. Handle recruitment advertising and paperwork for employee terminations.
  11. Maintain advertising and other HR logs.
  12. Become certified in HR training modules and ensure compliance with SOPs.
  13. Participate in hotel enrichment and orientation programs.
  14. Assist with employee events and transportation surveys.
  15. Maintain First Aid logs.
Qualifications
  1. At least 1 year of progressive HR experience in a hotel or related industry; union experience required.
  2. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
  4. Ability to work long hours as needed.
  5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  6. Ability to handle multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate a friendly demeanor.
  7. Participation in M.O.D. coverage and hotel meetings as required.
  8. Adherence to high standards of appearance and grooming.
  9. Ability to evaluate complex information and solve problems effectively.
