Position Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator oversees site-level HR operations and manages the employee lifecycle for instructional and operational staff. This role is responsible for supporting recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, credential tracking, and day-to-day HR operations. The HR Coordinator serves as a key resource for staff and helps ensure compliance with all applicable employment and education regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing
- Coordinate and post job openings across internal and external platforms
- Screen resumes and support the candidate selection process
- Schedule interviews and manage candidate communications
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation, and paperwork completion
- Coordinate background checks, fingerprinting, and required health clearances
- Support employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and equipment collection
- Ensure all employee records and documentation are properly maintained
Compliance & Credential Management
- Track certifications, credentials, permits, and compliance requirements
- Maintain employee personnel files and document retention processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and educational requirements
- Support audits and reporting activities as needed
Employee Relations & HR Operations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, leaves, and benefits
- Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and performance management processes
- Track leaves of absence, including FMLA and other protected leave programs
- Support employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives
Qualifications
Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of human resources experience in a school or educational setting
- Experience supporting employee relations, compliance, and HR operations
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practices and inclusive educational environments
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to successfully complete DOJ fingerprint clearance
- Ability to provide TB clearance within 60 days of hire, as required by California Education Code
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Approximately 230 workdays per year, aligned with the school calendar
- Occasional evening or off-hour work may be required
