Job summary

Pediatrics Plus is seeking an HR Specialist to join our team focused on empowering children and supporting multiple sites. The role handles hiring, onboarding, file maintenance, payroll-related changes, and compliance tasks across assigned sites.

We value confidentiality, strong communication, and organizational skills to manage a busy HR function and collaborate with site leaders and staff. Travel may be required as part of duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with computer software and basic HR systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to onboard and support new hires and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hiring and onboarding tasks for new team members, internal transfers, and students/volunteers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of HR information.
  • Create, maintain, and audit team member files.
  • Assist with site audits as needed.
  • Process pay changes, position changes, status changes, and terminations.
  • Ensure I-9 processing and filing compliance.
  • Support site leaders and team members across sites.
  • Coordinate performance reviews, policy acknowledgments, LMS courses, and related documents.
  • Handle background checks processing as needed.
  • Assist with benefits processing and HR team support.

What you will do:
  • Perform all applicable tasks related to hiring and onboarding processes for new team members, internal transfers, and students/volunteers for assigned sites ensuring laws and regulations are followed.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all information obtained in the course of performing Human Resources responsibilities.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and auditing team member files.
  • Assist with site audits as needed.
  • Monitor and complete Workflows related to pay changes, position changes, status changes, and terminations.
  • Ensure company is compliant with I-9 processing and filing.
  • Serve as an advocate for site leaders and team members for assigned sites.
  • Perform required distribution and tracking related to performance reviews, policy acknowledgements, LMS courses, and other company documents.
  • Perform all applicable tasks related to terminations of team members for assigned sites.
  • Perform all applicable tasks related to team member name changes.
  • Monitor the HR inbox and answers emails or forwards to appropriate person.
  • Perform all applicable tasks related to processing background checks.
  • Assistwith all aspects of benefits processing as needed.
  • Serve as a back-up and assist other HR team members as needed.
