Job summary

Precision Drilling Co. LP in Midland, Texas, seeks a Senior HR Business Partner to act as a strategic partner to operations and leaders, aligning people strategies with business goals for the West Texas division.

The role provides proactive HR support, guiding employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness while collaborating with stakeholders to drive engagement and high performance. On-site role with occasional on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field with 10+ years of HR experience.
• Strong expertise in employee relations, labor laws, and compliance.
• Experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central and payroll processes.
• Ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
• Oil & gas or drilling contractor industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations leadership to manage lifecycle processes from onboarding to terminations.
• Advise on employee relations, investigations, and workplace issues with fairness.
• Support workforce planning and rig staffing with Operations to meet crew needs.
• Drive HR programs related to compensation, development, performance, and organizational effectiveness.
• Provide strategic coaching to leaders and participate in HR projects; on-call rotation for weeknights and select weekends.

The Senior HR Business Partner serves as a strategic partner to employees and business leaders, aligning people strategies with operational and organizational objectives across the West Texas division. This role provides proactive, front - line HR support while collaborating with business stakeholders to drive employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and workforce success.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Partner with Operations leadership to manage critical employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, promotions, transfers, staffing, performance management, leaves of absence, and terminations
• Serve as the primary advisor on employee relations, labor law compliance, investigations, disciplinary actions, and workplace issues, ensuring fair and consistent practices
• Support workforce planning and rig staffing activities by collaborating closely with Operations to meet business and crew requirements
• Drive HR programs and initiatives related to compensation, talent development, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and process improvement
• Build strong relationships across the organization, provide strategic coaching to leaders, participate in special HR projects and other duties as assigned, and support critical employee and operational needs through an HR on - call rotation on weeknights and select weekends

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field with 10+ years of progressive HR experience
• Strong expertise in employee relations, labor laws, compliance, immigration, and HR support for field-based operations; oil and gas industry and experience with a drilling contractor is preferred
• Experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central, payroll processes, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to interpret policies, prepare reports, and manage complex employee matters with professionalism and discretion
