Job Title: Senior Human Resource Director
Location: San Ramon, CA
Pay: up to $145K
Onsite
Requirements:
- 12+ years of HR experience, including at least 8 years of direct HR leadership and department-building experience.
- Experience supporting organizations with 100+ employees—healthcare industry experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of employment law at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Demonstrated experience implementing scalable HR processes and driving strategic HR planning.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- A proven ability to build relationships, coach leaders, and influence change across all levels.
- Comfortable performing both strategic work and day-to-day HR operations.
- Experience with HRIS systems, ADP, and TriNet.
- A track record of building inclusive, diverse, and high-performing teams.
- Highly organized with a detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership across all HR functions including recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, career planning, performance management, compensation, benefits, training, workforce planning, organizational development, employee relations, compliance, and HR systems.
- Build a deep understanding of our organizational structure, goals, and cultures to ensure HR strategies align with business objectives.
- Partner with the CEO and fellow HR leaders to review and revise HR policies and practices; develop SOPs for improved processes.
- Evaluate and enhance our total compensation and benefits offerings in collaboration with the benefits broker to support retention and employee satisfaction.
- Improve recruiting processes to help meet aggressive hiring goals and create a positive experience from first touch through onboarding.
- Foster a culture of continuous feedback, supporting managers in employee development, coaching, and engagement strategies.
- Review and optimize evaluation and goal-setting tools to ensure performance management is meaningful and effective.
- Analyze employee turnover, implement strategies to reduce it to 3% annually, and improve overall employee engagement.
- Guide and coach managers on HR matters including performance, employee relations, recruitment, and retention.
- Oversee fair and legally compliant performance plans and involuntary terminations.
- Ensure ongoing HR compliance and accurate reporting across all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Audit payroll and timesheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Be a trusted advisor to staff and leadership, providing sound guidance through interpersonal and performance-related matters.
- Evaluate, lead, and upgrade HR technology and systems as needed.
- Lead internal investigations, engaging legal counsel when appropriate.
