Job summary

The Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County in Glen Burnie, MD seeks a Sr. Housing Specialist to supervise and support housing voucher programs.

You will assist low-to-moderate income families in securing affordable housing under HUD regulations and provide guidance to staff and participants. Responsibilities include intake briefings, voucher issuance, eligibility reviews, and coordination with partner agencies to ensure compliance and timely processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, HUD training preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to interpret HUD regulations and guidelines.
• Strong customer service and administration skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as interim supervisor in the absence of the Assistant Director.
• Provide training and oversight for HCV staff and ensure program compliance.
• Process and review eligibility, income, and rent calculations for HUD 50058.
• Issue vouchers and conduct participant intake briefings.
• Assist with annual re-certifications and portability processes.
