Job summary

MDHA is seeking a dedicated HCV Special Programs Specialist to administer HUD-VASH within the Housing Choice Voucher program. You will work with VA case managers to determine eligibility, issue and administer vouchers, and help Veterans secure and maintain housing.

Under the RA Special Project Manager, you will ensure accurate records, process annual/ interim actions, review income, monitor voucher utilization, and prepare files for audits while adhering to HUD regulations and MDHA's plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration or a related field.
• Three years of experience in affordable housing, property management or related field.
• Familiarity with HUD-VASH program guidelines and HUD requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret policies and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Yardi.

Responsibilities

• Manage HUD-VASH referrals and participant eligibility.
• Administer rental assistance and housing payments; process contracts and payments.
• Monitor program compliance and participant status; track documentation and audits.
• Maintain records and support reporting; prepare audits and status reports.
• Collaborate with VA staff and community partners to support Veterans’ housing stability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
