Job summary

Ameriprise Financial is seeking an experienced HR Project Manager to lead strategic HR initiatives from planning to implementation. You will collaborate with HR leaders, Centers of Excellence, HR Operations and Technology teams to deliver complex projects on time and with high quality.

The role requires proven experience guiding HR-focused programs, navigating ambiguity and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5–7 years of experience leading medium to large-scale HR projects and system implementations.
• Experience leading cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience delivering HR-related projects such as HR technology implementations or organizational initiatives.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management, and stakeholder communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of strategic HR initiatives, including planning, implementation, testing and post-implementation support.
• Partner with HR leaders, Centers of Excellence, Business Partners, Operations, Technology and vendors to define objectives, scope and delivery plans.
• Drive execution across multiple workstreams, manage dependencies, and address risks and issues.
• Facilitate meetings and decision forums, holding stakeholders accountable for commitments.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, resources, and status reporting.
• Lead HR technology implementations and operating model changes.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and outcomes.
• Communicate progress, risks, decisions, dependencies and escalations to sponsors.
• Identify organizational readiness needs, training and communication with business leaders.
• Monitor financials and changes to ensure alignment with priorities.
• Establish metrics and ensure benefits realization after implementation.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR project delivery processes.
