Job summary

Biovire in Brighton, Michigan is seeking a Senior HR Specialist to strengthen day-to-day HR operations and provide responsive support to employees and managers across the organization. Reporting to the Head of HR, the Senior HR Specialist will own onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS, employee relations, and recruiting support.

This hands-on role requires strong organization, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced GMP environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5+ years of progressive HR experience including generalist, operations, or partner responsibilities.
• Experience supporting employee relations, benefits, leave administration, onboarding, and HR systems.
• Ability to manage HR processes from intake to resolution independently.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first contact for employees and managers, guiding day-to-day HR needs.
• Maintain availability and ensure timely follow-through of HR requests.
• Provide initial guidance on employee relations, attendance, performance, and policy matters.
• Coordinate daily HR operations: ADP/HRIS, records, documentation, and processes.
• Maintain accurate employee files, job descriptions, HR docs, and calendars.
• Support benefits questions and coordinate with Payroll, brokers, and vendors.
• Coordinate leave and accommodations, including documentation and return-to-work.
• Assist with benefits enrollment, education, and communications.
• Manage onboarding, transfers, promotions, and offboarding activities.
• Coordinate recruiting for assigned roles, including postings, interviews, and offers.
• Partner with hiring managers to maintain candidate pipelines and aging.
• Support workforce planning and job description documentation.
• Coordinate performance reviews, goal setting, and development plans.
• Support Employee Handbook deployment and HR compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and improve HR processes and employee experience.
• Provide HR operational coverage in partnership with Senior Director, HR.
