Job summary

Biovire, Inc. in Brighton, Michigan, is seeking a Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to build and advance our Environmental, Health & Safety Management System and embed proactive risk identification, employee ownership, and sustainable safety performance across the site.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Sr. EHS Specialist will lead audits, training, incidents, and regulatory compliance programs while partnering with Operations, Quality, and HR to integrate EHS into

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related EH&S field or equivalent.
• 6+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing including environmental compliance and safety program implementation.
• Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Experience with hazardous-materials management, SDS, and waste requirements.
• Experience conducting EHS audits and incident investigations.
• Experience developing and delivering EHS training for employees, contractors, and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the EHS Management System.
• Define long-term EHS strategy, annual roadmap, objectives, and performance measures.
• Advise on regulatory requirements and risk-reduction strategies.
• Establish ownership and resource allocation for EHS decisions and corrective actions.
• Lead safety culture initiatives and employee engagement.
• Lead site waste management, hazardous materials handling, and regulatory reporting.
• Conduct EHS inspections then track findings and actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Deliver EHS training and job aids for employees and contractors.
