Job summary

SRV Temperature Solutions seeks an experienced HR Manager to lead HR across multiple states for a growing refrigeration and HVAC/R contractor. You’ll own employment law, contracts, and multi-state compliance, with a hands-on approach to policies, onboarding, and employee relations.

You’ll work with an HR Generalist/Recruiter on day-to-day hiring, build pay structures, benefits programs, and performance reviews as the team expands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HR management experience, preferably in skilled trades or construction.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, contracts, and multi-state compliance.
• Experience with employee relations, investigations, and workforce planning.
• Experience building policies, handbooks, and HR processes from the ground up.
• Able to travel occasionally to branch locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle HR operations across a multi-state field workforce, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee relations.
• Develop and maintain compliant policies, procedures, and employee handbooks for every state we operate in.
• Draft, review, and manage employment contracts, subcontractor agreements, and vendor documentation.
• Advise ownership and managers on labor law, compliance updates, and risk management.
• Research, recommend, implement, and administer employee benefits, including open enrollment and broker relationships.
• Manage investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Partner with payroll and accounting to keep pay, records, and compliance accurate.
• Build pay structures, performance reviews, and career paths for technicians and leads as the company grows.
• Track and report HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, and time-to-fill.
• Supervise and develop the HR Generalist/Recruiter.
• Monitor changes in state and federal employment law and update policies accordingly.
