Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR for two affiliated organizations in the insurance and benefits administration sector. You will guide executive leadership on CA employment law, oversee benefits, recruitment, HRIS, and policy development, while handling day-to-day execution for ~70 employees across Fremont and Pleasanton.

The role emphasizes strategic advisory duties, workforce planning, and a hands-on approach to employee lifecycle

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HR functions across two locations, including compliance, employee relations, benefits, recruiting, HRIS administration, policies, and workforce planning.
• Advise executive leadership on California employment law, employee relations matters, organizational effectiveness, risk mitigation, and HR best practices.
• Manage leaves of absence, accommodations, Workers' Compensation, workplace investigations, corrective actions, separations, and required documentation.
• Support both union and non‑union employee populations, including Collective Bargaining Agreement interpretation, grievance coordination, and labor relations support.
• Administer Paychex Flex or comparable HRIS functions, including employee records, time and attendance, benefits enrollment, HR reporting, and compliance documentation.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, compensation reviews, training compliance, employee engagement initiatives, and offboarding processes.
