Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced HR Manager for a contract/temporary assignment in San Jose, California. This leadership role provides hands-on HR support while the Director of Human Resources is on leave, ensuring compliant day-to-day operations and alignment with business needs.

You will partner with managers, mentor the HR Coordinator, and sustain a confidential, high‑engagement workplace while overseeing employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and compliance practices.
• Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and performance matters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily HR operations during the Director of HR’s leave.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Manage leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations, including documentation.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, offers, and background checks.
• Coordinate annual performance review processes and mentor HR staff.
