Job summary

Looks Great Services is seeking a Senior HR Generalist in Columbia, Mississippi, to serve as the primary day-to-day HR resource for ~275 employees. You will administer core HR processes, support recruiting, manage leave and records, and ensure policy compliance, within policy and legal constraints.

The role emphasizes sound judgment, discretion, and independent decision-making without owning payroll or benefits administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least five years of progressively responsible HR generalist experience.
• Demonstrated experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and HR compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Form I-9 requirements, employment documentation, and confidential recordkeeping.
• Experience supporting managers and employees in a multi-location or multi-state environment preferred.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes and coordinate with Payroll and Benefits.
• Complete and maintain Form I-9 documentation and retention records.
• Coordinate background checks and new-hire reporting with internal partners.
• Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS data.
• Prepare employment letters, notices, and HR correspondence.
• Support HR audits, reporting, policy acknowledgements, and employee communications.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee concerns and policy interpretation.
• Conduct routine workplace investigations and document findings.
• Identify matters requiring escalation for legal or reputational risk.
• Partner with hiring managers to coordinate recruitment activity.
• Support development and updating of job descriptions and postings.
• Administer FMLA and other leave processes and return-to-work coordination.
• Track leave status and communicate changes to Payroll and Benefits.
• Coordinate disability and workers' compensation absences.
• Maintain confidential leave and accommodation files.
• Assist with unemployment claims and related documentation.
• Collaborate on cross-functional compliance matters.
