Job summary

CalPrivate Bank is seeking an AVP, Sr. HR Generalist- Payroll Administrator in Brea, CA.

This role combines payroll leadership with broad HR partner responsibilities, ensuring accurate payroll processing and a seamless employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on payroll experience, preferably with ADP Workforce Now, and a solid understanding of California wage-and-hour requirements, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of progressive HR experience with employee relations and HR operations.
• Strong payroll knowledge; backup payroll resource.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own payroll process to ensure accurate, timely payroll administration.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, onboarding, and offboarding as needed.
• Coordinate onboarding from pre-employment to integration and ensure compliant documentation.
• Manage employee changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations with accuracy.
• Support HR audits, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Assist with benefits, leave coordination, and HR inquiries; maintain confidentiality.
