Job summary

Town of Southington seeks a Senior Human Resource Generalist to support HR operations across departments. You will manage ADP workflows, payroll backups, and benefit administration while upholding town policies and collective bargaining agreements.

The role requires hands-on ADP experience, confidentiality, and the ability to coordinate work across teams. Bachelor‑level education plus five years of HR experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible HR experience with independent responsibility for HR processes.
• Hands‑on ADP experience in HR administration and payroll processing is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day ADP HR processes including recruiting and onboarding workflows, data changes, benefits updates, and separations.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and new-hire orientation; monitor performance evaluations and ensure timely reviews.
• Administer benefits, leave, and unemployment claims; support CTMERS and workers’ comp processes as needed.
• Provide guidance on routine HR questions and contract provisions; escalate complex matters.
• Maintain confidential personnel records and prepare HR reports; support audits and records requests.
