Job summary

Naviga Recruiting & Executive Search is seeking an HR Compliance Manager to act as a true subject matter expert on employment compliance within a complex, nationally distributed organization.

You will interpret evolving regulations, assess risk, develop policy, and advise HR leadership and Legal. This is a high-visibility role with collaboration across HR, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition and the Office of General Counsel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of meaningful HR compliance experience.
• Deep knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
• Strong experience interpreting regulations and translating them into practical HR guidance.
• Experience writing, updating and governing HR policies.
• Experience with compliance audits, risk assessment and remediation.
• Hands-on knowledge of employment-related statutory reporting.
• Experience supporting a multi-state/national workforce.
• Ability to stay current as employment laws evolve.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
• Confidence to partner with senior HR leaders and Legal.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into practical HR policies, procedures and guidance.
• Identify compliance risks and recommend solutions and corrective actions.
• Develop, update and govern HR compliance policies and documentation.
• Lead internal HR compliance audits and risk-management initiatives.
• Manage the firm’s compliance calendar and ensure key requirements are completed on time.
• Oversee mandatory HR compliance training, including workplace conduct and harassment prevention.
• Manage and support statutory reporting, including EEO, VETS, OFCCP and disability-related reporting.
• Partner with HR Technology, Payroll and Benefits to ensure HR systems and processes align with regulatory requirements.
• Develop compliance metrics and reporting for leadership.
• Serve as a trusted partner to HR leadership, business partners and the Office of General Counsel.
• Stay ahead of evolving employment regulations and help the organization proactively respond to changes.
