Job summary

Synopsys in Hillsboro, OR seeks a senior HPC Systems Engineer to design and maintain compute environments that power engineering workloads. You will manage on‑premises and cloud resources, optimize job schedulers, and build DevOps automation to reduce manual toil.

You will collaborate with IT, R&D, and security to ensure uptime, performance, and cost efficiency while enabling rapid silicon design and simulation throughput.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience administering compute infrastructure in production.
• Proven ability to manage LSF, UGE, or Slurm at scale.
• Fluent in Linux/UNIX and Python scripting.
• Experience integrating on‑premises and cloud compute resources (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Ability to translate requirements into actionable roadmaps and coordinate across IT, security, and R&D.

Responsibilities

• Enable engineering teams to run design, verification, and simulation workloads on on‑premises and cloud compute environments.
• Manage and optimize job schedulers across large HPC systems.
• Build DevOps automation to improve reliability and reduce manual toil.
• Collaborate with IT, R&D, and security to align compute strategy and address issues.
• Oversee cost optimization and security compliance in cloud integrations.
