Job summary

AbbVie Information Research is seeking a High Performance Computing Architect to lead the design and operation of on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid HPC environments. You will guide compute, GPU, networking, storage, and software services, while championing automation, security, and cost‑effective solutions across R&D workloads.

The role requires hands‑on HPC experience, strong leadership, and collaboration with stakeholders, DevOps practices, and enterprise IT operations to deliver scalable

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in CS/IT or related field with substantial experience.
Leadership experience guiding technical teams and projects.
Strong Linux, HPC, and GPU architectures knowledge.
Experience with Slurm, containers, and workflow orchestration.
Exposure to on-premises, cloud, and hybrid HPC environments.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical architect for AbbVie IR HPC environments (on‑prem, cloud, hybrid).
Architect and evolve HPC compute, networking, and storage platforms.
Manage Slurm partitions, queues, GPU scheduling, and cost optimization.
Implement containerization (Apptainer/Singularity, Docker workflows) and software environments.
Lead automation, monitoring, runbooks, and incident reviews; mentor teams.
