Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior HPC Architect to lead design, deployment, and optimization of high-performance computing environments across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid platforms.

You will serve as the senior technical lead for HPC infrastructure, GPU/AI workloads, and scalable scheduling, collaborating with engineers, IT operations, and vendors. The role emphasizes building reliable HPC clusters, evaluating new technologies, and implementing cost-optimized, secure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in HPC engineering, infrastructure or architecture roles.
• 2+ years in a technical lead or senior engineer role.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimize HPC clusters across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Translate the HPC roadmap into designs, implementation plans and working solutions.
• Evaluate and run proofs-of-concept for new HPC, GPU and cloud technologies.
• Define and follow standards, reference architectures and best practices for HPC environments.
• Design and support GPU-accelerated infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.
• Tune GPU clusters, drivers, CUDA libraries and containers for performance and stability.
• Automate cluster provisioning and configuration using IaC and scripting.
