Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee hotel maintenance, ensure guest safety, and drive efficiency in daily operations. You will manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, while leading a team to deliver reliable service and uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, cost control, and coordinating with contractors, with a focus on guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Education: minimum a 2-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration.
• OSHA and safety standards compliance experience or ability to obtain/license.
• Proven ability to manage a maintenance team with strong leadership.
• Ability to work in varied conditions and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance department, ensuring hotel operations function optimally.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all systems.
• Administer life safety programs including fire safety and emergency procedures.
• Monitor expenses, manage maintenance contracts and capital expenditures.
• Lead, train, and evaluate the maintenance team; coach as needed.
• Coordinate with external contractors to ensure work meets standards.
• Communicate with management about property condition and improvements.
• Uphold guest service standards and maintain safety and security protocols.
