Hilton Garden Inn Bloomington is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead maintenance and sustainability across the hotel, overseeing preventive maintenance, equipment, and life-safety systems while ensuring guest comfort and brand standards.

The role requires supervisory experience, HVAC certification, and a proactive approach to safety, cost control, and vendor management; you will guide a team and manage projects and contracts to keep the property in top condition.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or trade school coursework in a related field.
• HVAC certification required.
• Other certifications may be required based on local needs.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates.
• Ensure they perform in accordance with brand standards and HHM core values.
• Financial and Vendor Oversight: Manage and coordinate bids, quotes, and contracts for 3rd party vendors.
• Project Management: Oversee small projects or Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) and report on work progress.
• Technical Repairs: Sheetrock repair, painting, furniture refinishing, and replacement of electrical and plumbing fixtures.
• Equipment and Systems: Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and repair heating/cooling pumps; install and program televisions.
• Preventative Maintenance: Maintain PM records on all rooms and equipment; test and maintain life safety systems.
• Compliance: Coordinate service contracts and ensure all work meets local, state, and Federal codes.
• Operations: Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal while following EarthView sustainability guidelines.
• Safety and Service: Practice safe work habits following MSDS and OSHA standards to increase guest satisfaction scores.
