Job summary

Delano Miami Beach seeks a Director of Engineering to lead maintenance, safety, and operations for the property. You will guide the engineering department, manage budgets, and supervise engineers to ensure high standards of hospitality, safety, and guest satisfaction.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with building systems, strong leadership, and strategic planning to align with Delano's luxury hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• Five years of hands-on maintenance experience and three years of supervisory experience in an upscale or lifestyle hotel.
• Proven leadership with demonstrated alignment to the company values.
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of hotel systems and software (Opera, MS Office).
• Ability to manage operating and capital budgets and oversee vendors.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with senior management and key partners to support engineering and facility management.
• Develop and implement short and long-term facility and engineering strategies.
• Define and improve service levels to protect investments and ensure optimal workplace environments.
• Manage budgets for building repairs, maintenance, and engineering projects.
• Oversee third-party vendors to ensure scope, schedule, budget, service levels, and quality.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety laws and company policies.
