Job summary

Delano Miami Beach, part of Ennismore, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead maintenance, safety and facilities operations. You will guide the engineering team, manage budgets, and ensure high standards of guest comfort and safety across all systems.

You will define strategies, oversee vendors, and champion energy efficiency while collaborating with other departments to elevate operational performance and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• College degree in Business, Hospitality, or Related field preferred.
• Five or more years of hands-on maintenance experience and at least three years in a supervisory role in an upscale hotel.
• Proven team leadership with energy and alignment to company values.
• Proficient understanding of Opera and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with senior management, staff and key partners to support engineering and facilities management.
• Develop short- and long-term facility management and engineering strategies.
• Define and improve service levels and support models to protect capital investments.
• Manage operating and capital budgets for repairs, maintenance and projects.
• Oversee third‑party vendors to ensure scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Ensure workplace health and safety compliance with local laws and policies.
• Provide technical expertise on building systems, energy management, and infrastructure.
• Lead project management for construction and facility improvements including contract negotiation.
• Supervise engineering team with prioritization, scheduling and timely task completion.
• Maintain hotel systems/equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety) and records.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve efficiency, sustainability and guest satisfaction.
• Occasionally perform related tasks to deliver exceptional guest service.
