Job summary

Winstanley Architects & Planners, with studios in D.C. and Miami, seeks a Senior Architect for the Miami studio to lead hospitality master planning and architectural engagements across the U.S. and Caribbean.

The role emphasizes design excellence, production rigor, and strong industry relationships to advance the firm’s hospitality practice. The ideal candidate has extensive hospitality experience, a proven business development track record, and the credentials to sustain and grow client

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in the Hospitality sector and master planning experience a plus.
• Proven track record in business development with established sector relationships.
• Strong skills in project management and technical design production.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities with clients.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and planning standards.
• Superior academic credentials and architectural registration.
• Active professional licenses in key states.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and architectural projects from programming through completion.
• Establish and maintain close relationships with client organizations.
• Within Hospitality, lead procurement activities including RFP responses and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate across project teams to deliver projects.
• Represent the firm in the market, including at events and public engagements.
• Work with Principals on growing the Hospitality practice and strategy.
• Provide mentorship within project teams and the firm.
• Maintain active professional licenses in key states.

Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Architect with extensive experience in the hospitality sector to join our practice, working out of our Miami studio. This position will lead Winstanley’s efforts to secure and execute master planning and architectural engagements for hotels, restaurants, resorts, and other hospitality projects across the United States and the Caribbean. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in design and production, as well as the experience and relationships to contribute in the short term to the firm’s business development in this sector . .

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and architectural projects from programming through completion.
• Establish and maintain close relationships with client organizations.
• Within the Hospitality space, lead project procurement activities including RFP responses and contract negotiations.

• Represent the firm in the market, including at industry events and public engagement opportunities.
• Work alongside Principals on strategic efforts to manage and grow the Hospitality practice.
• Provide mentorship within project teams and the firm.
