Job summary

LCMC Health seeks a Safety Officer II to provide a visible security presence across the hospital environment, screening entrants and maintaining safety for patients, staff, and visitors. The role involves patrols, incident response, and coordination with local authorities.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, policy academy preferred, 1 year experience, and BLS/CPI within orientation. Firearm certification and a Louisiana driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Policy academy graduate preferred.
• 1 year experience required.
• 3 years in a hospital setting preferred.
• Prior military, law enforcement or armed security experience preferred.
• Valid Louisiana Driver’s license and Firearm certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPI required within orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Provides visual security presence to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
• Screens anyone entering the hospital and monitors activity to prevent mishaps and disturbances.
• Performs routine security patrols of campus, internal and external areas.
• Responds to disturbances and assists with restraining orders as needed.
• Works with local authorities on arrests for offenses
• Operates security screening equipment and maintains control of patient valuables.
