Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Security Officer to protect staff, patients and visitors across our hospital campus in Louisiana. You will conduct routine patrols, enforce safety and order, and support access control and asset protection.

Respond to incidents, assist with restraining orders, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed. This role requires ongoing training in crisis prevention, firearm safety, and CPT/CPI protocols, with variable hours across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent AND 2 years of directly related security experience.
• Police Academy training is preferred.
• Experience may substitute education on a 2-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine security patrols of campus, both internal and external, to maintain safety, security, crowd control and order.
• Respond to disturbances involving patients, staff, visitors; deescalate situations and provide needed assistance.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement as needed and detain offenders when necessary.
• Assist victims with restraining orders and participate in training for Active Shooter, weapons qualification, CPI and related requirements.
• Operate security screening equipment and control access systems; protect patient valuables.
