Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a highly experienced Facilities Maintenance professional to maintain and repair hospital utilities, equipment and environmental systems, thereby supporting a safe, clean and patient-centered environment.

You will coordinate work orders and preventive maintenance, supervise contractors, document testing and compliance, and mentor staff while pursuing efficiency improvements and adherence to Mercy standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Journeyman certification or equivalent preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or related trades.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Certification in Electrical, Plumbing/Boilers, Mechanical/HVAC or Life Safety Maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes and facilitates work orders and preventive maintenance as directed.
• Coordinate with staff and contractors to execute tasks efficiently.
• Ensure maintenance complies with manufacturer recommendations and regulations.
• Test and document regulated items; report status to Facilities Supervisor.
• Schedule tasks and staff, track data, and ensure compliance timelines.
