Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin, TX is seeking a Custodian III to perform highly complex custodial work in a hospital environment. The role includes cleaning, sanitizing, ordering supplies, and supporting infection control under limited supervision at the Austin State Hospital.

The position offers full-time work, day shift, and a monthly pay of $2,962.92–$3,547.58, with telework not eligible and up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• One year of custodial/housekeeping or similar experience.
• Ability to work irregular hours.
• Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Attend work on a regular basis and follow shift schedule.
• Maintain cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment and records of usage.
• Coordinate cleaning, dusting and disinfecting restrooms, offices and patient areas.
• Ensure patient units meet cleanliness, health and safety standards; identify and follow up on issues.
• Assist Custodian Manager with hospital safety and infection control.
