Job summary

The Custodian III position at Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) requires performing highly complex custodial work in San Antonio state hospitals and treatment units. Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, including dusting, sweeping and mopping.
• Knowledge of stripping and waxing floors.
• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and shower stalls.
• Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
• Skills in using custodial materials, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work long hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level custodial work in state hospital buildings and clinical settings.
• Order, stock and restock supplies and equipment; provide backup to other custodians as needed.
• Clean, dust, disinfect restrooms, offices, treatment areas and patient rooms.
• Inspect buildings for cleanliness and safety; ensure follow-up actions are completed.
