Job summary

The Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Custodian III at the San Antonio State Hospital. This is a full-time, daytime position in a maximum-security unit with salary range $2,962.92 to $3,547.58 per month.

You will perform complex custodial tasks, clean and sanitize patient areas, restock supplies, and assist the Custodian Manager with safety and infection control programs. Requires at least one year of custodial or environmental services experience and the ability to work

Qualifications

• One year of custodial/housekeeping experience in a hospital, nursing home, or similar setting is required.
• Experience with cleaning chemicals and infection control practices is preferred.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly complex custodial work in a clinical setting, including cleaning and sanitizing state hospital buildings and treatment units.
• Restocks supplies and equipment and provides backup to other custodians as needed.
• Ensures patient units meet cleanliness, health, safety, and infection control standards.
