Job summary

Affinity Hospice is seeking an Executive Director to oversee the overall direction of hospice services, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and Georgia-specific regulations. You will hire and manage qualified hospice personnel, oversee service delivery, and establish standards of care aligned with the organization’s mission.

The role requires leading staffing, budgeting, policy development, and strategic initiatives to sustain high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• A master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare and/or hospice management.
• Must meet Georgia state requirements for hospice administrators.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing is preferred.
• Georgia requires that the hospice administrator must be either a Georgia-licensed healthcare professional with supervisory experience in hospice, or an individual with education in health services administration and at least two years of supervisory experience in hospice.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the qualified hospice administrator, responsible for day-to-day operation in compliance with Georgia regulations.
• Oversee operational planning and budgeting to ensure financial stability.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements including Georgia rules.
• Develop and enforce policies for hospice and palliative care with interdisciplinary input.
• Employ and retain qualified staff including physicians, nurses, social workers, clergy and volunteers.
• Ensure an adequately staffed clinical team to meet patient needs.
• Oversee staff orientation, training, competency testing and quality improvement.
• Provide supervision and ongoing training for staff and volunteers in hospice care.
