Job summary

CHI St. Gabriel’s Health in Little Falls seeks an HIM Specialist to safeguard patient data across the records lifecycle. You will manage imaging, chart analysis, and MPI data integrity while supporting clinicians with timely, compliant access to records.

The role requires HIPAA knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and experience with EMR systems and HIM software. You will collaborate with clinical teams to resolve documentation gaps and handle sensitive requests with confidentiality.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–3 years in Health Information Management (HIM) within healthcare.
Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and HIM software.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and medical record regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Oversee imaging lifecycle: preparation, scanning, indexing, quality review.
Audit records for completeness; address provider deficiencies per regulations.
Maintain Master Patient Index accuracy by resolving duplicates and mismatches.
Collaborate with providers to reconcile rejected orders and streamline chart completion.
Process Release of Information requests accurately and securely.
Ensure HIPAA/regulatory compliance across record-handling procedures.
