Job summary

CHRISTUS Health seeks a Manager of Health Information Management Coding to oversee daily coding operations and support remote associates in achieving KPIs. You will report to the Director of HIM Coding Operations and partner with cross-functional teams across CHRISTUS facilities and systems.

The role emphasizes coding accuracy, adherence to AHIMA/AHA guidelines, CMS requirements, and ongoing staff education. A strong leadership track record and experience with audits are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health information management, medical records administration, or equivalent healthcare leadership experience.
• Extensive knowledge of health information management, coding (ICD-10/PCS, CPT), MS-DRGs and APCs, and related compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with regulatory guidelines (AHIMA, AHA, CMS).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach remote and on-site coding staff to meet performance metrics.
• Analyze audit results to identify improvement opportunities and guide coding accuracy.
• Provide training and education to coding staff and external consultants in line with CHRISTUS HIM standards.
• Coordinate with CDI, HIM, Revenue Cycle, IT to optimize workflows and reduce billing errors.
• Monitor staffing, reallocate accounts, and report progress against KPIs to leadership.
