Job summary

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) in Seward, NE is seeking a dedicated Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior to support a statewide transportation system. Pay starts at $20.390/hour with promotion potential to $21.953/hour for CDL holders and eligible duties.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• CDL Class A or B with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days of employment.
• Experience with heavy equipment or farming background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and other light equipment to complete highway maintenance work.
• Operate tractors with attachments (discs, harrows, seeders, mowers, sprayers) to maintain highways.
• Operate post drivers for installing signs, fences, guardrails, and related tools.
• Maintain shrubs, lawns, perform tree trimming and brush cutting; perform building maintenance and cleaning.
