The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) seeks a dedicated Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior in Seward, NE. The role involves operating trucks and equipment, maintaining highways, and performing snow removal.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and have a valid driver's license.
• For Senior: Class A or B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days of employment.
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
• Farming background preferred.
• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.
• Commercial pesticide applicator license preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and light equipment to perform highway maintenance tasks.
• Operate tractors with attachments to maintain highways and rights of way.
• Use post drivers for signs, fences, guardrails and related installations.
• Maintain shrubs, lawns, and perform tree trimming and brush cutting.
• Paint buildings and structures; perform patching and sealing of cracks.
• Provide highway traffic control following safety procedures.
• Move, lift, and load equipment, materials and supplies as required; handle hazardous materials safely.
• Perform snow removal and respond to emergencies as needed.
