Job summary

The State of New Hampshire’s Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Maintenance Project Engineer in Concord. You will supervise design and construction of major transportation projects, prepare cost estimates, and ensure compliance with policies and specifications. Strong leadership and field adaptability are essential.

Ideal candidates hold P.E. licensure, a relevant engineering degree, and experience in project management within public works.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in engineering or a Bachelor's in engineering with MBA.
One year of post-licensure engineering experience.
Bachelor’s in engineering with three years post-licensure experience.
Associate’s in engineering/engineering technology with five years post-licensure experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer in Civil/Civil Highway/Geo Technical/Structural engineering.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
Trainee option not applicable.

Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates, and directs design and construction of multiple complex transportation projects.
Prepare cost estimates for infrastructure improvement projects statewide.
Review and modify plans to fit field conditions.
Authorize use of materials, equipment and procedures for projects.
Conduct on-site investigations and advise officials/consultants on issues.
