Job summary

Nevada Department of Transportation in Winnemucca, NV is seeking a Highway Maintenance Manager to oversee district maintenance and equipment operations, budgeting, safety programs, and staff development. The role reports to the Assistant District Engineer and requires coordinating with supervisors and public stakeholders.

Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, staffing, safety oversight, and ensuring environmental compliance across district activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of supervisory highway maintenance experience.
• Two years of experience as Highway Maintenance Supervisor II or Maintenance Management Coordinator in Nevada State service.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Administer and direct district maintenance and equipment operations to meet department and district objectives within the annual work program.
• Oversee safety programs and budget for contract services such as janitorial or inmate labor.
• Coordinate scheduling, material and equipment needs with Highway Maintenance Supervisors and Equipment Mechanic Supervisors.
• Review maintenance management system reports and related information to ensure effective operations.
• Liaise with public, local officials, and other agencies to address maintenance concerns and ensure service delivery.
