Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of experience operating complex or specialized highway maintenance equipment.
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as designated certified operator and train HWY Maint I/II on equipment.
• Operate and backup vehicles to install line markings and traffic signs.
• Apply seals and patches; input data into Maintenance Management System; respond to requests.
• Establish traffic controls and reroute traffic in work zones.
• Mix de-icing chemicals; operate snow removal equipment and loaders.
• Maintain radio communications; respond to emergencies; coordinate with agencies.
• Monitor contract compliance and supervise contractors.
• Maintain right-of-way landscaping and drainage facilities.
